my first couchsurfing experience

I hosted a couchsurfer originally from Venezuela a few weeks ago. she was GREAT!!! traveling to live life to the fullest, and i LOVE that. i took her around hartford, we had some great food at home and took her out to my favorite night spot. heres some pics.

Japanese Style

I did the statue thing for the first time last year. i was near a Japanese bar called Koji on Asylum street. They APPARENTLY took a picture of me. And they have tv screens playing Japanese movies, american movies, and pictures from things happening at the bar. I heard from a friend of a friend that i was on one of the screens. and last night, i saw it!

Lately

This was from Riverfest in Hartford the week after fourth of july. I kind of missed most of the fireworks that day cause i was "working"


my friend bought Dart frogs. I picked the blue one, LUDO, he picked the orange one, Trudie.




I began painting (priming) my pieces for my robot and my Willimantic Frog and i retouched my Hartford Statue shoes and cane.

This Weekend

friday night at work there was a HUGE hailstorm. I had never seen that kind of thing before.


Then I drove to boston at 7 but it took FOREVER to get out of CT cause two ways to get to hartford from my work were blocked off due to falling trees and down power lines. I went to a going away party for a friend in boston then picked up my friend Jared and brought him back to CT. He hung out while i worked on Saturday and he made Lady Gaga glasses.


We took the train into NYC saturday afternoon and met with Jareds friend Christina. We met up with a friend of mine TAYLOR who i met when he lived in CT. the guy who was in the Deaf Play.

On Sunday we marched in the parade. i was doing headstands for the crowd. eh....it didnt hurt that bad but i got a huge bump that luckly went down quickly.


After the parade we walked around and ran into Cameron Diaz on the street. She liked Jared's glasses. Then we went out a few places, watched the fireworks from the west side highway. We saw Joel from Good Charlotte outside of a hotel.

We stayed over at Jareds friends house Sunday night she lives right next to Washington Square Park.



We hung out in washington square park on monday afternoon and walked home to the train station but got ice cream on the way.

A Deaf Play

My friend Taylor Curtis is in a play. its geared towards youth to teach them about Deaf Culture. It tours the midwest and east coast schools and churches. He came to my house warming party and was talking to Carrie and they figured out that the girl SAW the play. I went to see it last sunday. the LAST CT show. IT was very fun. The first part is playing games. One is like "Telephone" but Obviously a little different. i went on stage to do that. then there is a play about 8 year old kids. Then they use umbrellas and act out things.
